At MeDirect Bank, we believe it is important that everyone can use our digital services, including people with disabilities. That is why we are actively working on improving the accessibility of our website and mobile app.
We do this in line with the European Accessibility Directive (EU) 2019/882, which is mandatory for banks from June 2025. In the Netherlands, this directive has been transposed into national legislation. As a financial institution, we also follow these guidelines as part of good digital entrepreneurship.
We ensure that our digital environment complies with the international accessibility standard WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means, among other things:
– Our website and app can be operated with the keyboard
– Images and buttons have a clear description (alt text)
– The pages are logically structured and easy to read
– We ensure sufficient color contrast and scalable text
– Videos and other media are subtitled or transcribed (where possible)
Accessibility is never ‘finished’. We continue to improve. Are you having trouble using our digital services? Or do you see something that could be improved? Let us know. Your experience helps us to make our services even more inclusive and user-friendly.
